Isola Fossara – Chiaserna This fairly long stage with significant elevation gain takes you into the Marche region at the foot of Monte Catria. From Isola Fossara, an initial climb leads to Piano Sant'Angelo, after which you descend to the Cesano River, where a second climb takes you past Fonte Avellana up to the ridge that you follow towards Rocca Balarda. Keeping below the summit of Monte Catria, you pass by the Rifugio della Vernosa before beginning the descent towards Monte Acuto and along its slopes until reaching the village of Chiaserna.
