With a short stage and limited elevation gain, we enter the territory of Amatrice, reaching the fraction of Torrita, which is situated on the opposite side of the wide plateau that characterizes the area, beyond the large artificial reservoir of Lake Scandarello. From Cittareale, we follow the course of the Velino River up to the slopes of Mount Tito, climbing without reaching the actual summit and aiming for the fraction of Casali di Sopra. After passing the settlement, we continue uphill, just below the summit of Mount Rozzo, where we begin descending through wooded slopes until we reach Torrita. During this stage, we cross the watershed between the Velino River, whose waters flow into the Tyrrhenian Sea, and the Tronto River, which flows into the Adriatic Sea.
