Hiking
On this medium-length stage with a purely downhill elevation gain, we leave the heights of the Majella and reach the village at the base of the springs of the Fiume Pescara. From the refuge, we ascend to the ridge, which we then follow downhill to the Colle dei Sambuchi at an altitude of 1638 meters, continuing down to the 1293 meters of the Sella Tremonti along the so-called Schiena d’asino. From this point, we leave the panoramic ridge to descend along the slopes facing southwest until we reach the settlement of Popoli on the Via Tiburtina Valeria.
