SI P11

A medium-length stage with a descent almost exclusively downhill, going down the Teramo side of Gran Sasso. From the Rifugio Duca degli Abruzzi, you reach the Sella di Monte Aquila, from where you take the descent path toward the Rifugio Garibaldi, which you pass, reaching the bottom of the Val Maone that separates Corno Grande from Pizzo d’Intermesoli. You continue along the valley heading north, passing under Corno Piccolo, and once you have passed the source of the Rio Arno, you turn right and follow an uphill stretch until you reach Prati di Tivo. You then continue northward downhill, crossing the meadows and passing by Fonte Monaco until you arrive at the beautiful village of Pietracamela.
