Hiking
From the central square of Campotosto, take the uphill road heading north (towards Castello). This path will take you through the upper part of the village and lead you to the summit of M.Te Cardito via trail 359, where you can enjoy a magnificent 360° panorama near a small refuge. At the end of May, these areas become the backdrop for a spectacular blooming of broom flowers, filling the landscape with yellow. You then descend northwest towards the Cerruglia stream, which will lead you to the SR577 road, marked by a roadside house with a fountain. The signs will then guide you to ascend via trail 362a towards the hill in the Fontusci area. Here, you will intersect with trail 362 and again meet the SR577 road, which you will need to cross and follow for a few dozen meters until you reach the beginning of the hairpin bend. From here, a sign will indicate trail 362, which descends through beech forests and clearings in the Serrerota and Serreripa areas (where it becomes 363) and will take you to Amatrice, passing through Villa San Cirpiano. An internal road will lead you through the area of taste and tradition, featuring 7 restaurants, and then the central avenue will take you to the Casa della Montagna.
