This moderately long stage with minimal elevation change transfers from the Picentini Mountains to the heights of Partenio, creating an arc around the city of Avellino. It passes through towns and developed areas, though it includes several detours through agricultural fields, hills, and forests. The exit from Serino heads towards the Pergola and Peluso mountains, along a road that follows their slopes until reaching a hill from which one descends to the settlement of Contrada. From there, a more pronounced ascent leads up near Monte Faliesi, followed by a descent to Monteforte Irpino, with its castle of Roman origin, built by the Lombards.
