N.B. 28/07/2021 Durante l’estate, potrebbero esserci problemi di percorribilità dovuti alla folta vegetazione nel tratto tra il varco a sud del Poggio del Cuculo e un piccolo varco noto come Poggio Arenella). Potrebbe inoltre essere complicato l’orientamento nella salita da Mercato S. Severino a Varco Ceraso, visto che solo per brevi tratti esiste una vera e propria traccia sul terreno, mentre, per il resto, si cammina senza traccia. Si consiglia la massima attenzione e l’uso di un GPS.

Another medium-length stage with elevation gain that continues south towards the city of Salerno. From Mercato San Severino, you reach the village of Curteri, where the ascent to the summit of Forcella della Cava at an altitude of 852 meters begins. Along the ridge that separates the Irno Valley from the basin of Cava de' Tirreni, you proceed southwards until reaching Varco della Foce, passing by the summit of Poggio del Cuculo.
