A medium-length stage with gentle elevation gain that traverses the Telesina Valley, circling some hills that rise from the valley floor. Starting from Telese, the route climbs the hills to the northwest of the town until reaching San Salvatore Telesino, where it continues northward, skirting the summit of Monte Acero on the eastern side until Faicchio.
