Hiking
From the Colli di San Pietro (310m), cross the SS 163 and follow trail 300 towards the Colli di Fontanelle (320m), passing along the road when necessary. At the bend of the first hairpin turn, after the Colli di Fontanelle, leave the road and head towards Malacoccola passing through Pizzetiello (489m), then reach Monticello and finally Torca (350m), where you can stop for a break. From the square in Torca, descend towards Nula until the junction with the trail to Crapolla, after which you stay at altitude along the slope until reaching the Pineta di Monticchio (250m). Continuing on the Alta Via dei Monti Lattari trail, you will encounter a rugged and slippery section in every season, dusty in dry periods, muddy when the ground is wet, requiring caution. In the summer, vegetation tends to cover the trail, making it difficult to identify. Descend into the Recommone valley, reach the beach where you can take a break. Proceed along a fenced area with a tower and continue on the trail to Nerano, passing through Marina del Cantone until you reach the square in the village of Nerano where you can stop for another break. Continue for a short distance on the road, then turn right and ascend steeply and laboriously to reach the top of Monte San Costanzo with its characteristic white chapel (486m), where you can enjoy a well-deserved rest. Return to the saddle of Monte San Costanzo (450m) and turn left, almost along the ridge, towards Pezzalonga. The first stretch is exposed and very slippery, so be careful while descending steeply to Punta Campanella. After a sharp right turn, you can descend to the Faro di Punta Campanella by turning left, concluding the Alta Via dei Monti Lattari. After a final stop, return to Termini along the ancient Via di Minerva. WATER SOURCES: Colli di Fontanelle, Torca, Recommone, Marina del Cantone, Nerano, and Termini.
