From the Passo della Crocetta, the trail ascends again, reaching an elevation of over 1000 meters with a moderately long stage but a more significant elevation gain, peaking at about 1300 meters. A point of interest is the different bands of vegetation that can be observed at various altitudes. At higher elevations, beech and turkey oak forests gradually give way as one descends to a more Mediterranean flora, featuring species such as the Neapolitan alder and the holm oak. The stage concludes at the Caserma di Cinquemiglia, a mountain locality that has been a reference point for generations of Calabrians in the area.
