Hiking
A long stage characterized by intermediate elevation gain through a series of ups and downs that runs parallel to the Tyrrhenian coast above Termini Imerese. From Ciminna, the route heads into the heights of Monte Rotondo and Cozzo Maragliano, aiming towards the summit of Pizzo, which is circled along the northern slope before descending to the San Leonardo River that feeds the artificial basin of Lake Caccamo. After crossing the watercourse, there is a climb to a pass beneath the summit of Pizzo Pipitone, from which one descends to reach the Torto River, shortly followed by the Montemaggiore Belsito railway station situated on the line connecting Agrigento and Caltanissetta with Palermo. A final ascent to bypass the peak of Monte Scardilla and the subsequent descent lead to the village of Montemaggiore Belsito.
