With this long stage featuring almost exclusively downhill elevation change, the Sentiero Italia concludes its journey in Sicily, arriving at the ferry port connecting Messina and Reggio Calabria, where it resumes the path northward. From the Case Maressa Refuge, the trail of the Dorsale Peloritana is taken, reaching the summit of Dinnammare at an elevation of 1127 meters, where a long downhill road begins to follow all the way to the sea.
