Hiking
We start, after visiting the interesting Cork Museum, from the village of Calangianus to see the giant's tomb of 'Pascaredda'. A very beautiful and well-maintained site that is easily reached thanks to the signs indicating the direction. We retrace our steps for about 500 m and resume the path that leads us to see the church 'le Grazie'. The church, made entirely of granite, can be visited through the side door which is open, allowing us to admire a beautiful altar. We continue our 'Camino' towards Mount Limbara. Before taking the dirt road that leads us to the top, at 1025 m, in the area of Li Conchi (which features very beautiful Tafoni that have been used as natural shelters since ancient times), we cross the bike path created along the former railway line of Calangianus - Monti. This point of 'interchange' with the bike path is thoroughly signposted. Those who do not wish to tackle the ascent to Limbara can opt for the bike path that leads towards the Monti railway station. On Limbara, in the area of Li Conchi, there are two wooden structures, the first privately owned (by a hunting company) and the second owned by the municipality of Calangianus, managed by the Regional Agency Forestas, which could be used as an intermediate stop (upon request) since the segment between Calangianus and Monti is 37.80 km long. There are also two fountains, one along the route in Li Conchi and the other (Crispoli spring) with a detour of just over 1 km. The area is very beautiful and welcoming, with the presence of many 'caves'. After a short stretch on dirt road, we take the left heading south-southeast, which leads towards Monti alongside Punta Cupuneddi. From this junction heading towards Valliciola (a charming location where some sequoias are present), for those wishing to stop for one or two days, there are trails on Mount Limbara for over 60 km. Upon reaching Piandiscopa (indicated by an old sign), we continue on a path, and after following a newly created trail, we find a track that descends for over 700 m in elevation to reach the vicinity of the 'lu rustu' pasture. Having crossed the pasture and/or alternatively following the bike path, we pass the provincial road that leads right to Berchidda and left to Calangianus, continuing along a dirt road that becomes asphalted after a few kilometers, just before the former agriturismo Sa Corona. After crossing, through underpasses, the railway and the S.S. road, we arrive in Monti.
