SI Z10B

Hiking
This stage is definitely less challenging than the previous Z10A. It involves retracing a short section in reverse, from Norghio to Janna (about 2.7 km). From this junction, a dirt road leads to the ridge of Abba Vritta (754 m above sea level), which is followed until the saddle that separates it from Punta Su Grabbellu. Upon reaching point N40.46928° E9.61228°, the dirt track is abandoned to the right (in the direction of travel S-O), and by following the contour line towards the southeast, through rocky terrain and bushy vegetation, one crosses an area that still lacks a clearly defined path (but is easily discernible and very scenic) to arrive at the area of Tanarghè N40.46456° E9.61046° (with a watering trough and a noticeable water presence). In any case, the dirt road leads to the area of Tanarghè, but it is less interesting from a landscape perspective. Continuing on, one passes through the ancient settlements of Pontesu, where, after crossing a gate and descending a steep track, one joins a forest road at about 740 m above sea level that connects the southern and northern slopes of the mountain. The entire forest road is followed (about 6.2 km) heading east until reaching the valley floor, crossed by an asphalted municipal road leading to the town of Irgoli. After crossing the town and before the bridge on SP 25, which spans a tributary of the Cedrino river, the right bank is followed until it meets the main river, which is then ascended along the left orographic bank until reaching the bridge at the entrance to Galtellì. This stage is without difficulty, with minimal elevation gain and quite gradual descents (aside from a short section), predominantly following paths and asphalted roads due to the proximity of urban centers.
