The trail begins with a convenient dirt path that crosses the Badde Tureddu stream and then climbs with a series of switchbacks, where a spring is located. Upon reaching an altitude of 987 meters above sea level, the 441 trail leaves the dirt road and enters the forest. It's a beautiful path through an oak and cork tree forest, marked by trail signs on trees and stone cairns. After passing through the forest, the trail continues and becomes a dirt road just before the bivouacs of Ziu Mulittu (two fairly comfortable stone structures). At the fork 441-441C, continue on 441 heading northwest towards the ruins of the cuile Sos Pisanos, then ascend towards Monte Novo San Giovanni where there is a fire lookout that overlooks a vast unspoiled territory. Leaving Monte Novo, the route continues southwest towards Monte Fumai at 1316 meters above sea level, and then proceeds north towards the Montes Forest Ranger Station (Ilodei Malu).
