SI Z18

Hiking
This is a medium-length stage that initially retraces a short section of stage Z17, then continues south after leaving the dirt road. We walk along a recently constructed path by the Regional Forest Agency that leads us to the parking area of Bruncu Spina (the dream of Sardinia to have ski resorts). We proceed southeast, and after skirting Punta Paulinu while following the contour at about 1680 meters above sea level, we arrive at a junction of paths near Arcu Gennargentu (1650 meters above sea level). We continue along the ridge, crossing Punta La Marmora, and upon reaching N39.98703° E9.32408°, we take the path on our right heading southwest, which leads us downhill towards Arcu Sa Turzi (1604 meters above sea level) before continuing south after a brief bend towards the east. Following the course of a stream at varying altitudes between 1440 and 1300 meters, we reach the cuile Strumpu on a dirt road at about 1100 meters above sea level, having previously visited the Nuragic village Sa Idda 'e Ruinas. We continue on the dirt road to get near the cuile Prediargiu, which we will leave on our left to take a trail, marked with stone cairns for about 3 kilometers, leading us to another dirt path heading north towards the stop Terra Ona. This stage is very scenic but quite demanding with challenges in water supply. Be cautious in case of fog.
