A medium-length stage that initially retraces a short section of stage Z18, then continues south on a dirt road leading to the cuile Gidinis. From there, it moves southeast to reach the road and the bridge crossing the rio Pirincanes. We follow this road for a brief stretch before deviating, after a couple of hairpin bends, to the east and then south towards Perda Liana, which we reach via a path that starts at the parking area after crossing SS 389. The clearly visible path keeps to the right at the next fork (the path to the left reconnects after a much wider detour). The tower of Perda Liana, a natural monument and symbol of Ogliastra, is visible from 360° as it is situated at the summit of a rise. In popular legends, it became known as the entrance to hell. Leaving the tower behind us, we continue south; after making a loop towards the north, we resume our route southeast to see the Su Stampu gorge, a sinkhole about 50 meters deep (N39.89595° E9.39277°). We continue, always at altitude, along the valley of the Flumendosa River to reach the summit of Pizzu Margiani Pubusa (1325 m above sea level) where a fire lookout is located. From this peak, we begin the descent towards the stopping point at Montarbu (874 m above sea level), following a beautiful path immersed in the woods heading south (at this fork N39.88223° E9.38695°, take the right path) with several springs found along the trail beside a stream with numerous little waterfalls during the spring season. This stage is very scenic, particularly in the section following the tower, but quite demanding.
