The original stage, being quite long at over 28 km, has been divided into two parts. The 21B section represents the shorter stretch, about 10 km, and is well-suited to welcome hikers at the start of the stage in the village of Ulassai, known as the home of the artist Maria Lai and featuring numerous climbing routes of varying difficulty. Leaving the village of Ulassai, one travels a short stretch along via S’Arenargiu, where the weaving workshop is located, and shortly thereafter comes the fork for Monte Matzeu, which we will leave on our right to continue along a dirt road headed south. Next, a path continues south, traversing a beautiful forest, with the route well marked by stone men. Following along Monte Tisiddu, we arrive at a dirt road that leads us, after passing several forks, to an easy trail heading southeast. In this section, we find two springs; the first is near a shelter, and the second close to a wooden cabin that can be used as a bivouac if needed. After skirting the SP 13, we cross it to continue uphill along a paved road. Arriving at a junction, we turn right towards the west. After passing a gate with a side passage and the fork leading to the fire watchtower, we find another fork with a scenic viewpoint on the right. Returning to the junction, we continue west, then south, and finally southwest towards the Hotel Ristorante Rifugio d'Ogliastra (open year-round), eventually arriving at the stopping point in the square of the countryside church of Sant’Antonio di Jerzu, where a drinking fountain is available.
